Mwanjé’s musical journey began in 2019 with the release of her debut single, “The Divine,” a poetic neo-soul piece that introduced her ethereal sound to the world. This track set the stage for her subsequent works, showcasing her ability to blend introspective lyrics with captivating melodies.
In April 2022, she unveiled her debut EP, Seasons, a five-track project that delves into themes of self-discovery, personal growth, and Afro-diasporic connections. The EP features notable tracks such as “Dandelions,” “LAC,” and “Call 2 The Diaspora.” A standout collaboration on the EP is “Wildones,” featuring her sister, acclaimed artist Sampa The Great. This project has been lauded for its fluid exploration of genre and visual imagination, solidifying Mwanjé’s position as a rising star in the contemporary music scene.
Beyond her solo endeavors, Mwanjé has contributed to significant collaborative works. Notably, she was featured on Sampa The Great’s 2022 track “Never Forget,” alongside Chef 187 and Tio Nason. This song pays homage to the Zamrock genre and has garnered international attention, including its inclusion in the soundtrack for the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
