
Morena Leraba Biography: Lesotho-born singer and rapper Teboho Mochaoa, known as Morena Leraba, has advanced his musical career alot. In February 2023, he released his debut EP, “Fela sa Ha Mojela,” a five-track project that blends traditional Famo-inspired vocals with electronic music, dub, and hip-hop elements. This EP, whose title translates to “song or poem of Ha Mojela,” reflects his deep-rooted connection to Lesotho’s musical heritage while embracing contemporary sounds.
Following the EP’s release, Morena Leraba continued to expand his global presence through various collaborations and performances. Notably, he featured on Major Lazer’s 2021 album “Music Is the Weapon (Reloaded)” with the track “Hands Up,” alongside South African artist Moonchild Sanelly. He also contributed to Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project, appearing on the single “Johannesburg” from the 2019 album “EGOLI.”
In 2024, Morena Leraba released several remixed versions of his tracks, including “Ho Sama-Sama (Kalahari Surfers Remix),” “Morea-rea (Nane Kahle Remix),” and “Meritlhoana (Xzavier Stone Remix),” further showcasing his versatility and appeal across different musical genres.
As of February 2025, Morena Leraba continues to work on new music and collaborations, aiming to bring his unique Lesotho-inspired sound to an even broader international audience.
